Song of Hurwitz
My name is Hurwitz
I'm the boss of Maxxam
I've got some redwoods
and I'm going to ax 'em.
The trees I am cutting
have lived two thousand years;
I'll cut them for profit
while shedding no tears.
As an upstart on Wall Street
I floated junk bonds.
Now I level forests --
Oh, now I drain ponds!
I knew I had it made
when I bought Pacific Lumber.
Every grove and every glade
is in my book, and has a number.
It is my own nature
To be a world-class financier.
Now I destroy Nature:
Sequoia, owls, salmon and deer.
The Earth is my Capital,
Its people my Labor.
When I'm done let 'em go to Mars,
our planetary neighbor!
My name is Hurwitz
I'm the boss of Maxxam
I've got some redwoods
and I'm going to ax 'em.
