My True Love
(original lyrics)
My true love has a skin disease
And shorts that hang below the knees.
My true love chants in Japanese
The 14th Sonnet from the Portuguese.
My true love plays saxophone,
Violin and sli-i-ide trombone,
And won't go out to eat alone,
But jams all night on the telephone.
I want to dive into your Being
And rest my weary head,
For if I cannot fall in love,
Let me fall asleep instead.
I wanna float in space above you
Like a constant shining star,
So when my words aren't being heard,
At least you know you are!
My true love has deep blue eyes
And ought to win a Nobel Prize
For making people realize
That war should be illegalized!
My true love has three degrees
And lives among the redwood trees.
My true love writes poetry,
But never says a word to me.
I wanna dive into your Being
And rest my weary head,
For if I cannot fall in love,
Let me fall asleep instead.
I want to float in space above you
Like a constant shining star,
So when my words aren't being heard,
At least you know you are!
